~The Dark Realm~
Black tar goes splat
Out my velvet red lips
Onto the Carrera shattered walls
My crown falls
Off my head and pierces
My inner thy
This is how you shall die
By the sword and my spear
Of the silvered tongues
You love so dear
Aching to have you dear
Their venom will slew your response
Cut you up with a thousand cuts
Vampire blood sucked
Soaking up your blood
Drain out your soul
Served on a silver platter
They will swallow you whole
I spew poison
From every rose off the ivy
Drips the thorns
Of the conniving
Blossoms thick with dripping tar
Never forget who you are
The poison freezes
No you can't beg my pardon
For you're trapped
Lock stock frozen
My words form your shell
My fate cannot be broken
I spew poison
She whispers to me in a dream
"I know it's been hard.
Every memory is etched in stone.
Every wound has caused a scar.
But you've learned many lessons,
Some things most will never know.
Look back with wiser eyes,
Every seed cracks for a flower to grow."
She wakes me from my sleep
"Look at all the hearts you have touched.
Even by breaking your very own.
Your soul has birthed new light
In the darkest nightmares of old."
She takes me to a window
Has me peer deep inside
"You survived all that harmed you."
Then a tear fell from my eye
"Look in to see the happiness you gave without gain.
Your past loves have rewarded you.
They still praise your name."
I turned to find another 'she'
One quite different than before
She walked into the forest
As if I would follow her some more
"Who are you?" I asked intriguingly.
But she didn't say a word
I kept screaming for an answer
But I could not be heard
Still I followed her blindly
Through the forest thick with fog
She started humming, then singing
The most haunting of songs
"Beware the wolves,
Their bark is much less than their bite.
Beware the hanging bats,
As they love the dark nights.
Step lightly, follow close.
There's much trouble underfoot.
Don't dance in the fire,
If you don't wish to be soot."
She kept disappearing before me
As the fog grew so thick
I tried to keep up
But my very best is not quick
I heard the howls and growls
The high pitch of the bats
So my tired feet carried on
For I had no idea to where I was at
Then, thunk! Went my head
Into a wall of pure stone
I looked all around my poor self
But I found myself alone
My hands scoured the hard wall
For a weakness, for a way
Then behold, there was a doorknob
Hidden behind a rose bush in decay
I went to turn the knob
But alas, it wouldn't turn
The snarls and growls were getting closer
Through the brush, through the ferns
I scrambled for the key
to the door's skeleton lock
Finally found it in my pocket
To my greatest of shock
I swung the door shut behind me
Trapping all the beasts inside
And felt the warmth of the sun
As I slowly turned to find
'She' had transformed once more
Held out her elegant hand
I went to her almost blinded
My bare feet felt the warm sand
I smelt the saltwater air
Cool as a fine mist of ice
She looked at me and smiled
Thank God this one is nice
I grasped her outreached hand
Felt her soft skin with mine
I didn't bother to ask her name
No, no, not this time
We simply stared at the waves
As they rolled upon the shore
"Are you ready for an adventure?" she asked.
What the hell, what's one more?
I haven't seen the sun for weeks
It's brightness burns my eyes
I am at rest for the season it seems
Hollow darkness comforts my sighs
I grip the red satin with my talons grown long
I miss the misty thick air
One day I'll emerge from this tomb
Without thoughts of devil may care
One morning I will awake before dawn
To meet the sun with happy reprise
My immortal soul longing for warmth and the dew
Of the yellow in my dark eyes
I will be gone from this southern tainted swamp
My heart rising on the west horizon
A pavement path called the I40 leads me there
All my past fallen to bygones
A desolate beach awaits me
Seaglass broken underfoot
All the pain and hearts all damaged
I will remember what it took
But for now this crypt is my company
My weary head resting sound
Maybe once my wishes will come true
No more desires in the lost and found
Do not weep for me
I have never been a quitter
Someday the sun will warm my skin
My red veins shining with glitter
Do not weep for me
I will never feel so alive
All I truly needed to do
Was let this part of me die
